2)  Heart-to-Heart

When was the last time you had a “heart to heart” with a loved one?

The heart has been a symbol of love, soul and higher  consciousness for thousands of years.  It represents the sacred science of Soulmating and the journey from oneness to separateness and back to oneness.  The symbol represents the center of emotion and the “seat” of thought, will and intention.   This is the deeper meaning of “learning something by heart”, “crossing your heart”, “wearing your heart on your sleeve”, “breaking someone’s heart” and “following your heart”.  Trusting your love for a true heart-to-heart can be intimidating…  we may think the other person won’t want to hear what we have to say or that they “can’t take it”.  The truth is we must relearn how to be our real selves in our relationships and how to be graceful in our critique.  Scheduling a heart-to-heart once a week keeps your stress down and helps maintain authenticity in your relationship.  Cut out a small heart and give it to your love  or send a picture of an akoma to your love when you want to express that you have something special or sensitive to share…

symbols of love the altar

3)  Where is your love center located in your home or  work?

For thousands and thousands of years people have made alters where they live, work and worship.  The altar may   literally be any elevated structure or symbolically be the center and focal point of our appreciation or respect.  It is a place where we say our marriage vows, honor our ancestors and imagine and visually define our goals.  A love altar can contain photos, words and other representations of the seven senses to help magnetize desires of the heart into the physical world through visualization and ritual.  Many people have pictures, drawings or trinkets from their children in the home and at work…  Do you have an intimate, self-love or family alter in your home or office?  If you do, what’s on it?

symbols of love feather

4) What is your ritual for maintaining a light heart?

Feathers represent truth and perfect balance in  relationships.  It represents the highest moral and ethical standard.   Feathers symbolize the higher mind because they are associated with air, the skies, and the heavens.   One classical example of this is in the Egyptian weighing of the heart ceremony.  On Judgment Day, if the heart was as light as a feather, the soul was deemed pure and the spirit could move freely into ascension.  If it was heavy or full of wrongdoings, the soul would cease to exit.  Carry a small feather in your wallet as a reminder to keep a light heart…  Hold a feather in your hand during your heart-to-hearts…  or use the feather during foot washing.  Do you notice feathers on your path throughout the day?
